About What The Hope

Welcome to my little corner of the internet! where adults who have been out of school for a minute (or a decade) can find a lifeline. This page is for anyone juggling full-time jobs, kids, pets, bills, or just the sheer chaos of life while trying to get back to school or take care of their mental health.

Think of this as your “you’ve got this “ hub: resources for adult education, scholarships, and mental health support in Oklahoma; all in one place. I put this together because, honestly, why should navigating life and learning be so complicated?

Spoiler alert: it is complicated. But here you’ll find a little help, a little hope, and maybe even a laugh or two along the way

My Personal Education Story

At sixteen, I left high school to work and help my mom pay our household bills. Although education always mattered to me, survival came first. The dream of finishing school never left, and at twenty-one, I returned to earn my high school diploma, proving that my circumstances did not define my future. My path through higher education was not linear. I began college unsure of my direction, explored different fields, and ultimately found my way back to psychology and mental health. Along the way, I learned that growth often comes from uncertainty and that change is not failure—it is discovery. That perseverance led me to earn my associate’s degree in psychology and sociology, a milestone I once believed was out of reach.

I created What the Hope to be the resource I wish I had during those years. When everything felt like “what the hell?” and I didn’t know where to turn. The name is a reminder that even in confusion, fear, or burnout, hope still exists. This site exists to show others that their path does not have to be perfect to be powerful, and that education, mental health support, and encouragement should be accessible to everyone who is trying to build a better future.
